I lived on the third floor of a conversion flat and the charity where I adopted the cat from wouldn't let the cat come home until I'd put up screens on all the windows I'd normally open. I ordered them online, custom made, and all it took was a strip of Velcro on each outside edge of the wire netting and they fit the window perfectly. Kitty could perch on her ledge and watch the world safely behind the screens.I just did a search and the guy who made my screens is still in business! Those screens are also good to keep insects out.
He was very helpful so I'm glad to see his business is still going.
